These ideas are taken from a thread on Rapture Ready called "Is God telling you to REALLY get ready!!!!" .. from various posters .. in no particular order .. with some of my comments.

Enjoy your life and kids .. Don't worry about the future .. Do not fear .. Be in God's peace (in the eye of the storm) .. Keep on being practical about job, home, finances, and plans .. Don't feel sorry for yourself - This isn't! Heaven (yet) .. Trust God to meet your needs, yet do, in obedience, what you feel you have to .. Remember Bible promises.  Don't buy anything on extended credit that isn't necessary .. Help others financially, if led, particularly anonymously.

Distribute tracts .. Live simpler .. Get / be out of debt .. Don't buy what you don't need ..  "Retire" from hustle and bustle .. Remember Y2K?  Be kinda Y2K ready (mainly, for those "left behind") but if it makes you feel more ready for an emergency, store it .. Get "Left Behind" Letters, books, Bibles, literature, videos, etc. ready and leave in prominent places .. Clean the house, garage, and yard (Be a good example) .. Get rid of nonessential belongings (donating is a charity, whether it's a tax exemption or not) .. Get rid of clutter and garbage .. Simplify down to one of a kind, not two or three (unless you really need it) .. Rest periodically and take care of yourself .. Refresh by enjoying nature ..

Keep on watching the signs (on TV and computer Bible Prophecy sites, etc.) .. Watch and be sober (not wildly indulgent .. that doesn't mean to never unwind by laughter) .. Stay away from useless arguments (like family members who have their minds made up) .. like about evolution, secret societies, like Masonic one-worldism, unless you REALLY think you can make a difference ... Encourage believers .. Travel less, if it's stressful ..

Focus on Jesus, not the world for help ... Think about 1988, 2000 (Y2K), and other "passed dates" as merely DRILLS - ONE DAY it will be the REAL thing (it will happen - look how many signs have happened and are happening) ..

My target is Rosh Hash Hannah, 2005 .. Also, my target is before 2005 ends - 2011/2012 .. 1948 (when Israel became a nation, IMHO) + 70 (a generation, IMHO) = 2018 - 7 (years of tribulation, IMHO) = 2011 - 2005 (where we are now) = 6 more years, tops.  Although, I will take "out of the blue," totally unpredictable, immanency if it happens.
The Mayans predict "the end of the world" (end of the age) to be by 2012.  That could happen.
