"What the Yucaipa quake felt like"

We lived in Cincinnati, OH, in 1987 when we felt the effects of an earthquake.  Being from Wisconsin, at first I couldn't understand what was happening, then I couldn't remember what one was to do in an earthquake!  Tornado, yes! earthquake, NO!!!

The dishes rattled and the deck plants swayed.  My husband was napping on the couch and wondered why our baby daughter was shaking the couch.  I told him it was not our daughter but an earthquake!  It probably lasted only 5 seconds ... but those were looooong seconds!

Our northwestern Wisconsin (and northeastern Minnesota) took a hit from storms again.  We personally only suffered from the power out  BUT  usually we can know trouble is coming.  Those earthquakes are spooky things ... just come! ... without announcement!
