"Power Muffins for blood pressure assist  :-)"


Shalom All:

I'd like to share my sucessful attempt to make a tasty "power" muffin for my husband who needs an assist of calcuim, magnesium, and potassium for his blood pressure.

The calcuim, magnesium, and potassium amounts are as near as I can figure them.

Power Muffins

First Ingredients:
1 egg - ( c=29 mg - m=6.2 mg - p=67 mg )
1/4 cup butter
1 banana, ripe - ( c=5 mg - p=340 mg )
1/4 cup BLACKSTRAP molassess a MUST - ( c=705 mg - p=2043 mg )
1/2 cup Soy Milk - ( c=180 mg - m=120 mg - p=200 mg )
      my husband has lactose intolerance, hence the Soy Milk

Second Ingredients:
1 tablet Magnesium, crushed - ( m=250 mg )
1 cup wheat flour - ( c=40 mg - p=486 mg )
1 cup DARK rye a MUST - ( c=72 mg - p=934 mg )
45 pistachios, cut up - ( c=30 mg - p=291 mg )
12 dried apricot halves, cut up - ( c=48 mg - p=1000 mg )
1 cup raisins - ( p=1000 mg )
1 package of instant breadkfast mix - milk chocolate Carnation
( c=300 mg - m=940 mg - p=300 mg )

Cream together First Ingredients, then add Second Ingredients.
Put into muffin papers and bake (about) 25 minutes at 350 degrees F.

When you make 12 muffins, each muffin has:
c=121.3 mg - m=109.7 mg - p=570.9 mg

From what I've read, the daily requirements are:
c=1200 mg - m=420 mg - p=4700 mg
