Is the covenant in Daniel 9:27 the Roadmap to Peace?  I watched a
prohecy conference on Daystar last night (it was televised live out of
Dallas).  It was very interesting.  The question was posed about the
Roadmap being the covenant that is confirmed.  Here are some of my notes.

What is the Daniel 9:27 covenant:

   * affects the status of the Temple Mount
   * affects the status of  Jerusalem
   * affects the status of the Holy Land

The minister said this covenant that is confirmed was first mentioned in
Gen. 15:18 when the Lord made a covenant with Abram telling him the
boundaries of the land given to his descendants from the river of Egypt
to the great river Euphrates.

I realize the covenant that is confirmed won't/isn't worded like that,
but the Abramic covenant and the Tribulation covenant both affect the
land of Israel and her status.

So, what is the Roadmap to Peace?

   * affects the status of the Temple Mount
   * affects the status of  Jerusalem
   * affects the status of the Holy Land's borders

When Colin Powell first introduced the world to the Roadmap, he referred
to it's creators as the Quartet.  The Quartet is composed of the U.S.,
European Union, Russia, and the U.N.  There was a problem, however, with
getting it up and running.  Yassir Arafat wouldn't budge on calling in
his terror squads.  So, basically, the Roadmap was on hold.

   * In Nov. 2004, Arafat died.

   * Within a day or 2 of his death, Tony Blair said Arafat's death
opened the door for
       peace in the Middle East.

   * I believe the minister said it was in Dec. 2004 that Pres. Bush
said he would bring
      peace to the Middle East during his 2nd term in office.

   * Sharon said  2005 would be of great historic opportunity.

   * Abbas denounced terror.

Now there were no roadblocks in the Roadmap.

The Roadmap to Peace has all the elements of the covenant.   Could it be
this is the covenant in Daniel that is confirmed  when the pullouts
begin within the next few weeks?  Are we about to witness the beginning
of the last 7 years?  I don't know.
But the question must be asked:  Seeing the time, what should we be doing?

Romans 13:11 "And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to
awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first
believed. "
