    Some time ago, I figured that this scene took place in the month of Nissan.  Indeed I equated it with the fast of Daniel.  Here's why.
    At the time of this scripture John the Baptist has just been beheaded....and Ya'Shua is spending His time in the traditional Sheva(mourning) for a member of His family.
    So, I have somewhat of a problem with equating it to the Day after YK.  But, I do see a shadow of Tabernacles, In what Peter said BEFORE YHVH spoke.
    This shadow kind of fits into Dave Camps folded calendar...where the 6 months of the religious year are overlapped with the 6 months of the civil calendar.

    Tishri 11 the day after Yom Kippur is actually 7-11 of the religious year (I wonder if that is where the gamblers get their good luck call for 7 come 11 on dice?)
    And you are right it is 1-11 of the Civil Calendar.

    On figuring the time of the Transfiguration..as close as I can remember, I reasoned this way.  John the Baptist was beheaded on the 1st  of Nissan...Ya'Shua did 7 days of Sheva, the last of which He spent on the top of the Mt. as spoken of in Matt. 17.  Then He spent the next few days going amoung the people, and on the 10th. of Nissan He was chosen as the Lamb (just as the Pesach sacrifice is chosen)...and He rode the white donkey into Jerusalem for His last 5 days of  life, before His crucifixion.
    I could be wrong on this, but we could probably find out what day was Herrod's birthday.
     I also figured that the Transfiguration was the last day that Israel could chose Ya'Shua as their Machiach.  That special day, when they could have heard the voice of YHVH....and seen the two phrophets Moses and Elijah....that they always have believed would appear before Machiach.  When Ya'Shua said that Elijah had already appeared, but they didn't recognize him...that He was speaking of this occassion.
    John the Baptist was 6 months older than Ya'Shua...Does anyone know at what age John died?  If John died in Nissan, he could have lived also 33 1/2 years...just as Ya'Shua did.
