"Re: Warning to the
Prophets"
The following are a few of the many scriptures
which instruct by declaration and example that we are to be led by the
Spirit. I await scriptures which offer example or commandments that
indicate these scriptures no longer apply.
John 16:13
13 "But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will
guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative,
but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what
is to come.
NASU
Acts 8:29
29 Then the Spirit said to Philip, "Go up and join this
chariot."
NASU
Acts 10:19-20
19 While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit
said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for you.
20 "But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without
misgivings, for I have sent them Myself."
NASU
Acts 11:28
28 One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate
by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the
world. And this took place in the reign of Claudius.
NASU
Acts 16:6-7
6 They passed through the Phrygian and Galatian region,
having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;
7 and after they came to Mysia, they were trying to go
into Bithynia, and the Spirit of Jesus did not permit them;
NASU
Rom 2:29-3:1
29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision
is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his
praise is not from men, but from God.
NASU
Rom 7:6
6 But now we have been released from the Law, having
died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the
Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.
NASU
Rom 8:3-8
3 For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through
the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh
and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,
4 so that the requirement of the Law might be fulfilled
in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.
5 For those who are according to the flesh set their
minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit,
the things of the Spirit.
6 For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind
set on the Spirit is life and peace,
7 because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward
God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even
able to do so,
8 and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
NASU
Rom 8:14
14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these
are sons of God.
NASU
1 Cor 2:10-15
10 For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for
the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.
11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except
the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one
knows except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world,
but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given
to us by God,
13 which things we also speak, not in words taught by
human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts
with spiritual words.
14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the
Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand
them, because they are spiritually appraised.
15 But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet
he himself is appraised by no one.
NASU
Gal 3:2-3
2 This is the only thing I want to find out from you:
did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with
faith?
3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are
you now being perfected by the flesh?
NASU
Gal 5:16-18
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry
out the desire of the flesh.
17 For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit,
and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another,
so that you may not do the things that you please.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under
the Law.
NASU
2 Peter 1:20-21
20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture
is a matter of one's own interpretation,
21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will,
but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
