SUBJECT: The movie "Saved".

Dear John and Doves,

The movie "Saved" is a positive development for evangelical Christians. We may imagine that we are that 'royal priesthood and holy nation'. But the facts indicate otherwise. Our own Christian divorce rate and moral standards are not much different from that of the secular world. We can look in the mirror of Holy Scripture and see that we are unsanctified and in need of refinement. Or we can let Hollywood be our disciplinarian, judging us, (as usual), as hypocrites. Either way, if we are wise we shall know that judgement comes first to the household of God. - 1 Pet.4:15

The modern church is like the lukewarm church of Laodicea in Revelation chapter 3. She thinks she is rich and has it all. God disagrees. He says she is "wretched, pitiable, blind, poor and naked". When the day comes, yes even amidst persecution and tribulation, when she realizes that she needs to change her moth eaten garments and purchase eye salve and gold refined in the fire then this will be a good thing.

When the true church realizes that darkness is descending upon the world and that she needs to purchase the oil of the Holy Spirit to keep her lamp burning instead of depending on the oil of her own failing "self esteem" then that will be a positive step forward as well.
Jesus told the parable of the five wise virgins. Darkness was descending all around them
and they knew the bridegroom was coming. They forsaw a time at the midnight hour when their lamps would run out of oil. So they considered the matter of infilling from a supply outside of themselves as a top priority. This is an important message for the saints as we approach the end-time drama. Let us all seek the face of our Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of His Holy Spirit.

Here is the article on the ten virgins.
