“...see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand...” (Luke 21, 30)

Today is June 22, 2004. I was very surprised and amazed when I found today this precious letter from Granny Priscilla. Therefore I like to share with you something what I could just experience and what I was pondering. With the Lord’s help I try to write below, sorry if some is not so very best English.

This is Granny Priscilla’s letter:

Granny Priscilla (22 June 2004) "Trumpets Feast"

It just came to my attention that Rosh Hashanah is a feast that is associated with darkness because---It occurs at the New Moon when the primary night light of the heavens is darkened---Also, it is the only feast that begins on a New Moon----Amos prophesied of the day of the Lord being a day of darkness----"Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! to what end is it for you? the day of the Lord is darkness, and not light.....Shall not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?" Amos 5:18-20------This very well could be the reason why God scheduled the first fall feast after a long period of silence to begin on a dark night-----This could also have something to do with the midnight cry------

Two days ago on Sunday, June 20, our family could be at a “trumpet festival” (because our son Mark (15) is playing the trombone)…

…the beautiful “Badischer Landesposaunentag 2004” (I try to translate: the Baden Region Trumpet Festival) !!!

I am thinking and pondering that it was much more than a “Sunday trip”…. it was like a parable or a pattern……..

The festival was on the area of the “Landesgartenschau Kehl / Strasbourg 2004” (a German/French flower garden exhibition in Kehl/Strasbourg - at the German/French border near Strasbourg). The city of Kehl is at the right bank of the Rhine river and on the left the city of Strasbourg, where is also the European Parliament.

A fantastic footbridge is connecting the areas right and left of the Rhine river. Therefore is the motto of the flower exhibition “Festival des Deux Rives / Rendezvous am Rhein” which means like this: festival of the two banks / rendezvous at the Rhine river.

The trumpet festival is organized by regional (Protestant) churches and takes place every 2 years. This year it should be in the city of Nürnberg in a football stadium. However because the stadium there has to be remodelled for the Football World Championship 2006 there was no place and in the last minute the trumpet festival had to find another place… finally the idea was to go to the flower garden exhibition….. And so we had the beautiful trumpet festival in that beautiful flower garden … Praise the Lord!

More than 1.700 !!! trombonists and their families gathered Sunday morning for service… Can you imagine what a beautiful and powerful trumpet sound!!!….

The pastor preached about Romans 8 (“hope….” – however it was not mentioned the soon coming of our Lord – our really hope….)…

“open air service”: first it was sunny weather… after the service heavy clouds…. rain… heavy rain and lightning and thunders and even hail… most people had to flee to shelters…. well, after one hour again sun and lovely weather !!!…Praise the Lord!

The final meeting in the afternoon again was very impressing and amazing. So many trumpets!!! They played the hymn “Geh’ aus mein Herz und suche Freud, in dieser schönen Sommerzeit....“ (A hymn about „beautiful summer time“ and „joy“ and „garden“... by Paul Gerhardt (1607 – 1676)… And there were also readings… deeply moved I listened to Genesis (“Garden Eden”) and Isaiah 51,3: “…For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody…” and other beautiful scriptures….

Yes, Feast of Trumpets……

Praise the Lord….!!!

I was pondering this…. Feast of Trumpets … and …….summer is nigh….

In the evening when we came back, I had to write something in my little office… (we are in the flower business and do have some problems..)

In between I did cheque the spaceweather-website and what a great surprise when I found that report, which I sent to “our Fivedoves” (thank you bro John …”postman”)

This is when the Sun is farthest north for the year and begins its six-month return southward. Wow!!! Summer has already begun!!!

And… at that point in time when summer is beginning “….the Sun is farthest north for the year…” (Sun is most far away from Earth --- Granny Priscilla writes in the letter today about “darkness”…. – however……when something is “…collapsing… all at once into “a dark cave” comes the light…!!! - however only just for a short time….)

And the beauty of the photo above comes from “……….when the Sun is almost vertical above ….a pillar of sunlight makes it to the water of the lake and illuminates it in such a way that the boats seem like hovering on a field of turquoise light….”

“…a boat hovering….” beautiful!!!!!!!! “… a pillar of sunlight makes it to the water of the lake…” (Remember John 5…” For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water ...”...remember the man …. the 38 years….)

After I read the text and saw the photo … all at once again I was remembered to “the Feast of Trumpets”… and did find this:

Sunday June 20, (8:57 p.m. EDT - beginning of summer) until September 16, Feast of Trumpets: 88 days !!!

Is this the summer… THE Summer… ??? THE Summer when we may have a “rendezvous” ….crossing the River….. “coming home…” …when deserts soon will be changed into gardens……….

And a scripture came into my mind and i was deeply moved : “….the summer is ended, and we are not saved ….” Jeremiah 8, 20.

Generations and generations had to cry and sigh ..... “….the summer is ended, and we are not saved ….” and when it says: The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved…. so this is just the time round the Feast of Trumpets… is it not?

So let us hope that this year will be THE Summer, the Great Summer…. and we may get into the boat… into the Ark of our Lord and Saviour…. Come, Lord Jesus! Please come and save us…!!!

Next morning I did cheque again the website of “spaceweather”…. what a surprise: they did change the headline into “CHANGE OF SEASONS” and did also give the time in UTC (Universal Time) :

…isn’t that so very amazing….???

is the change really coming THIS summer??????? O, Lord help us and save us, hear our cry, the whole creation is waiting……

CHANGE OF SEASONS: Today is the first day of summer in the northern hemisphere. The change of seasons happened at 00:57 UT on June 21st when the Sun reached its greatest northern declination--a.k.a. the summer solstice.

Remember ....John 5: “...a certain season”

....and this I was thinking too: „the change of seasons happened at 00:57 UTC...“ this means : summer began in the midnight hour … in the last minutes of the midnight hour….(UTC midnight hour ! )!!!

and I was also remembered to the “midnight cry…” and thought: beginning of summer…. plus 88 days….midnight hour ….Feast of Trumpets…..!!!

…so therefore I marvelled today when I read the letter from Granny Priscilla,… thank you Granny for sharing this…

Yes, all Glory to our Father in Heaven! through His Son Yeshua, ….our soon coming Saviour…. Praise the Lord !

One little more detail…. The photo and the text at the spaceweather-website was Monday afternoon already removed… so only less than one day…. only for a short time….!

Is this THE Summer…? Our Lord knows, and He will come in time… in His time. Yes He will come… we are close, very close… O, Lord make us ready….
