"Sin nature"
I would like to know how one can
explain how a young child caught with cookie crumbs all over, when asked
by his mother if he was in the cookie jar, says "no". Who taught that child
to lie? Whether they are born to Christian parents or not, it is the same.
I speak from personal experience. The above situation happened with both
my sons. In discussing it with family, they have had the same experience,
and I'm sure you have too. Lying is sin, and it is human nature. We are
born with it.
Even an infant will scream and demand it's
own way, no matter what. Sure, they will cry when hungry, or wet, or thirsty,
but they also cry and demand many things. "I want my toy! I want your attention
when you are on the phone! I want to scatter the pots and pans for the
umpteenth time!" Self, me, my demands = sin.
Both my sons asked Jesus into their hearts
at a very young age, without any prompting on my part. They knew they were
sinners, something that is inherent, and they knew they needed a Saviour.
The Bible says "For ALL have sinned..." , it doesn't say all but babies
have sinned.
