"Meteor hits near Snohomish - "sleeping waters""

Doves:

It seems the meteor which hit Washington state was larger than
many first claimed...possibly as big as a car.  It hit near a town
whose root name is "sleeping waters"....an accurate description
of the "state" of the church here in the U.S.:

   Matthew 25
1 "At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who
took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of
them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their
lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise, however, took
oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long
time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

Meteor may have hit near Snohomish
Associated Press
SEATTLE - A meteor that lighted Western Washington's night sky
early Thursday may have landed near Snohomish, a University of
Washington scientist says.Earthquake technology indicated the
meteor exploded about 27 miles above and 6.4 miles northeast of
Snohomish, said William Steele, coordinator of the Pacific Northwest
Seismograph Network at the university. The blast was intense enough
to register on about 80 earthquake detectors, allowing university
seismologist Stephen Malone use triangulation to determine the
point of origin."What was interesting to us is we saw only a point
source (a single explosion) there," rather than a sonic boom kind
of sound wave from an object rapidly entering the atmosphere,
Malone said. One of Smith's colleagues, professor Don Brownlee,
said he believes it's likely the object made it to the ground without
disintegrating, but it could be hard to find over several square miles.
It could also be as big as a car, Brownlee noted. He added, "The
bigger these things are, the rarer they are."

Historic City of Snohomish

The City of Snohomish was founded in 1860 by E.C. Ferguson and
E.F. Cady. The city was first known as Cadyville and later changed to
Snohomish City in 1871, named after the dominant indian tribe in the
area "sdoh-doh-hohbsh" which means sleeping waters. Once known
for its logging industry, the City of Snohomish is now famous for its
antiques. Historic downtown features turn-of-the-century buildings,
many of which still stand today.

intersection of 1st Street and Avenue "D". The Pinnacle Building
(far left) was built in 1882. This existing structure was utilized as
an auto garage around 1910. The hotel next door has since been
demolished and is now our front parking lot.
