""A Religious Tower of Babel: Why I Believe Christians Should Not Participate in Governor Perry's "The Response""
Mercer
Excellent research again; thanks for sharing. Although Gov. Perry's
initiative seems genuine and supportive of Christian principles, I'm
afraid this is yet again an attempt to religious body building. The
Church is not on earth to try and become a powerful entity but its task
is to be a testimony of Christ and preach the gospel. ..The disciple is
not above his master, nor the servant above his lord, Matt 10:22-24
(KJV).. Our Call is not to reign and build a religious power house.
We'll have to wait for the second coming of the Lord to establish His
righteous rule.
Satan's strategy is to make us compromise in things large and small,
anything, in order to get control over us. He's the master of deceit in
presenting attractive 'half-truths' seeded with his leaven of idle
personal or worldly goals. Didn't he offer our Lord world domination if
He would just bow down for him?
..Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and
sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And
saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall
down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence,
Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him
only shalt thou serve. Matt 4:8-10 (KJV)..
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,
against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,
against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the
whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:12-13 (KJV).
