"Divine healing Part 2"
Dear friends:
In my previous e-mail, I mentioned Christine Darg explaining how divine
healing was common and expected in the early church and how it began to
disappear when liberalism and unbelief began to creep into the church,
which is widespread today.
Back when God was honored and fully trusted in the church, people would
get healed there. Both Old and New Covenants have many promises for
healing. Just one is all we need. Here is a good one:
- "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the
church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of
the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will
raise him up" (James 5:14-15).
That still works. But in practice today, people have changed
that to read:
- "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the doctor, or
Medicare, or Obamacare..."
As trust in God eroded, people had to look elsewhere to get
healed.
Today people look to government for healing, as well as provision and
everything. Because of unbelief, healthcare has become a major
burden for governments, threatening to destroy whole economies, while
making few people healthy.
Pharmaceutical companies spend billions promoting their drugs, mostly
unnatural chemical combinations, with numerous, often fatal side
effects. TV channels are flooded with drug commercials, with a
smiling, happy actor or actress telling you to "Ask your
doctor..." about the drug being promoted. (Fast-talking, small
print at the end of the commercials warns of the terrible side
effects.)
Naturally, these drug commercials are accompanied by lawyer commercials
trying to get you to sue the drug companies for harm done.
The medical industry is tied in with these drug companies and the FDA to
the point that a doctor must adhere to their protocols or they can lose
their license, preventing them from prescribing proven natural remedies
instead of their killer drugs.
The JOURNAL of the AMERICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATION (JAMA) Vol
284, No 4, July 26th 2000 article written by Dr Barbara Starfield, MD,
MPH, of the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, shows that
medical errors may be the third leading cause of death in the United
States.
The report apparently shows there are 2,000 deaths/year from
unnecessary surgery; 7000 deaths/year from medication errors in
hospitals; 20,000 deaths/year from other errors in hospitals; 80,000
deaths/year from infections in hospitals; 106,000 deaths/year from
non-error, adverse effects of medications - these total up to 225,000
deaths per year in the US from iatrogenic causes which ranks these deaths
as the # 3 killer. Iatrogenic is a term used when a patient dies as a
direct result of treatments by a physician, whether it is from
misdiagnosis of the ailment or from adverse drug reactions used to treat
the illness. (drug reactions are the most common cause).
According to the ground-breaking 2003 medical report Death by
Medicine, by Drs. Gary Null, Carolyn Dean, Martin Feldman, Debora
Rasio and Dorothy Smith, 783,936 people in the United States die every
year from conventional medicine mistakes. That's the equivalent of six
jumbo jet crashes a day for an entire year
The situation created by rejecting God is sheer madness. But that
is just one more folly of a lost humanity.
God did not intend it this way. He had a better way. A
no-cost way. A way with no side effects. But people did not
believe Him, and still do not. And as usual, they are suffering the
consequences.
