"Charles, re "Apostasy""

Your quote:

The United Methodist Church stands for an end to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, and for political self-determination for its people. The United Methodist Church stands for a just peace for all in Palestine and Israel.     (underlining is mine)

The nation of Israel was born in 1948 out of a majority vote of the international community represented in the United Nations.  There is NOTHING ILLEGAL about the existence of the State of Israel.  They are no more “occupying” the land of Israel than America is “illegally occupying” the lands originally owned by North American Indians and Mexico.  You and the Methodist Church are trying to re-write history.  God gave the land of Israel to the people of Israel thousands of years ago.  They were dispersed mainly in 70 AD after the crucifixion of Jesus, but now they have returned to their HOMELAND after escaping from the ovens of Hitler.

The Palestinians demonstrated their desire for a “just peace” after Israel gave them the territory in Gaza, when they began launching rockets into Israeli neighborhoods and schools.  The Palestinians won’t be satisfied until Israel is wiped off the face of the earth.  There is no appeasement that will satisfy them.
