"When someone says to you that Jesus might not return for a thousand years..."

I didn't originate these thoughts.  But I pass them on.  When someone says to you that Jesus might not return for a thousand years, you can explain to them why that can't be the case in all likelihood.  The simple fact is mankind is running out of time.

A college professor spoke about exponential growth. He explained about bacteria in a bottle. If the bacteria grew and doubled every second the bottle would be full by midnight.  But by the application of exponential growth, the bottle would only be half full at one second before midnight.  This has application to the human race.

Thomas Malthus foresaw the problem of exponential growth in 1798.  His theory on the exponential growth of the human race is seen below.

"I think I may fairly make two postulata. First, that food is necessary to the existence of man. Secondly, that the passion between the sexes is necessary and will remain nearly in its present state. These two laws, ever since we have had any knowledge of mankind, appear to have been fixed laws of our nature, and, as we have not hitherto seen any alteration in them, we have no right to conclude that they will ever cease to be what they now are... Assuming then my postulata as granted, I say, that the power of population is indefinitely greater than the power in the earth to produce subsistence for man. Population, when unchecked, increases in a geometrical ratio."
—Malthus 1798, Chapter 1.
The availability of food is already becoming problematic in some areas of the world.  Fresh water is even more problematic.  Energy resources are of concern in nearly every nation.  When you take into consideration the the simple math, we probably don't have even a few hundred years, let alone a thousand years as a viable species at anything more than a below subsistance level.  Add to that all of the fulfilled Bible prophecies that have ocurred just in our lifetime and I think you could make a pretty strong argument that Jesus is coming soon.  He is even at the door!
