"URGENT Prayer Request"
Good morning John!
I know you only
post letters on the Five Doves website once per day, but I have a very
urgent prayer request and I earnestly ask that you would post it as
soon as possible.
This is an URGENT prayer request for a little 17 year old girl!
My
daughter’s best friend, Amber is dying. She has been ill most of
her life due to kidney disease. She had been on the waiting list
for a kidney transplant for a long, long time, and finally received a
kidney transplant back in January. Her surgery went well and
everything seemed to be fine. But in the last month or so, Amber
has developed an infection in her brain and it has caused a lot of
swelling and bleeding in her brain. It is in an area of the brain
that controls many organs in her body. The doctors were not
holding out much hope because there was nothing they could do to help
her; but over last weekend they believed that some of the swelling was
going away and tests that they ran on Amber showed that she had full
brain activity.......so our hopes of her recovering were high.
They did another MRI on her on Wednesday and discovered that her brain
is swelling and bleeding even more than before. Amber's family
met with doctors yesterday to decide what they need to do. The
doctors said that, basically, Amber's body is still alive but she is
gone. If there is still no improvement by Monday, they are going
to disconnect all of her life support.
This is
so hard......thankfully, I've never had to deal with anything like
this. It's one thing when an old person dies, and even though it
hurts and we grieve over it, we know they lived a long and fulfilling
life. But when it is a 17 year old child.......how do you bear
it…….I just don’t understand why this child has to die. I feel so
helpless......like I need to do something but I don't know what to
do. I am trying to console my daughter, but it's hard when I am
doing well to console myself. I believe in a God that can and does heal
people and I know He is a miracle-working God. I know that
everyone on Five Doves are praying people and they believe in the power
of prayer…… so I am just asking for all of your prayers this
morning........Amber needs a miracle and her precious family and
friends need peace that passes all understanding. Please pray for
Amber and for all of us.
May the Lord richly bless all of you today.
