Lately I feel under attack by Screwtape and his nephew, Wormwood of C.S.Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters".  Screwtape would leave me alone if I were no threat but since he won't he has to see me as a threat and an enemy to him.  He knows who my Father God is and His Son The Lord Jesus Christ and fears.  (James 2:19 says. the devil believes in God and trembles.)  The devil (Screwtape) is MAD!  He is fighting MAD to win battles against God and will stop at nothing since he knows time is short and he will lose!

   Not long ago I heard Paster Chas. Stanley say that the devil is always on a warpath deceiving and capturing whom he will. (1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant because your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walketh about seeking whom he may devour.")

   Paster Stanley said to follow Ephesians 6:11-18 "Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

   Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand. 

   Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate  of righteousness.

   And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.

   Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the firey darts of the wicked.

   And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

   Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints."

I've read this many, many times but never took it to heart until Screwtape showed up. I've felt like Martin Luther when he threw an inkwell at the devil.  I know it's him.  It's probably because he knows his time is short and is subduing ruthlessly all he can esp. all God's kids.  Never underestimate the devil and guess I did. 

I'm praying that our time is short too and soon and very soon we will be living with our Lord God and Savior in our new heavenly homes together with Him forever.  Amen.  Mary
