"The Two Witnesses"

Hi John

It has been a while since I have posted a letter, but I keep an eye on the Doves’ letters daily. Thanks for all the work you do in providing this forum for us all. It is a blessing.

My recent note to Marilyn Agee about the two witnesses below and her response for posting.

Hi Marilyn

It has been a while since I have emailed you but I always keep an eye on your Pros and Cons. http://prophecycorner.theforeverfamily.com/

A query on your recent pros and Cons 1559. You discuss Moses and Elijah as the two witnesses, but there seems to be more evidence for Enoch and Elijah as the two witnesses. These two prophets of God are the only two that have not yet experienced death, as they were translated (raptured), in reference to the Lord’s word that all men are appointed once to die. Not counting the raptured saints (wise virgins) of course.

In addition, the Apocalypse of Peter (AOP), a non-canonical book, literally states that Enoch and Elijah as the two witnesses. Incidentally, the AOP, also gives a fantastic description of what the sign of the Lord is, which will be presented before his coming, It is worth a read; A bright cross in the sky? No wonder all will know and mourn. There will be no mistaking this sign! Glory, glory, glory.

Back to the two witnesses. There is no doubt through the Lord’s word that Elijah is one of the two witnesses, as the Lord states that he will be sent to “restore all things”, which includes the establishment of the workings of the third temple, but also his power will be untouchable. No wonder the world will rejoice when he is killed by the anti-christ, as Elijah will cause such a stir. Only the satan empowered anti-christ will be able to slow Elijah down, but only because the Lord allows it to fulfill His word and will.

Elijah will also have the power to discern which tribe the Hebrews are from to establish the 144,000 and they will be well briefed before they have to flee into the wilderness mid trib. There is another fact that is the Hebrews look for Elijah on one of their feast days to this day, so they are expecting him to return before Messiah comes.

I have two trains of thought re Moses and Enoch – the other witness.

The Moses train of thought. I have this hunch that Moses could be used by the Lord if the Ark of the Covenant has a role to play, which is possible given the third temple has to be in operation leading up to mid tribulation when the two witnesses are killed. We know that Moses’ grave is on Mount Nebo unmarked and that no man to this day knows this location. Isn’t it a strange coincidence that the Ark could be buried on Mount Nebo too, due east from the Temple Mount at an exact distance proportion of the dimensions of the Ark itself. I reference the work of David Flynn here – Temple at the Centre of Time. Worth a read if you have not already. I find this very interesting. There is also the fact that Elijah and Moses appeared to Jesus at the transfiguration. Not sure if all this means that Moses is the second witness though as I believe the Lord has requested in the old testament that the Ark was to be put away because people were placing it in higher regard and it was seen as a distraction. The same as it was for the temple really.

However, the Enoch train of thought seems stronger. Besides the AOP reference mentioned above, which I understand used to be part of the bible but removed, I believe Elijah and Enoch represent the two olive trees that stand before the throne of God as the root, a picture of the Hebrews (Elijah) and the grafted-in, which is a picture of the gentiles (Enoch). To be translated, or raptured, and to be one of these olive trees shows that the Lord held Elijah and Enoch in such high regard. To say the least.

The other reason is that both have not seen death, but we know that both of the two witnesses die during mid tribulation, and therefore fulfilling the Lord’s word regarding this ‘appointed once to die’ scripture. I also believe the reference by the Lord about this time of tribulation to be “ as the days of Noah were” links Enoch and the fallen/watchers  and their earth born (Nephilim). We know through the book of Enoch that he was alive at this time and even conversed with these beings and wrote about them.

It makes sense that the Lord would use those most qualified to deal with what is coming on the Earth and Elijah and Enoch to me fit the bill. You have two key areas: 1) Hebrew restoration and preparation completed by Elijah, and 2) dealings with powerful spiritual entities (fallen ones and then nephilim demons) and (gentile) mankind which are the foolish virgins that will be turned around (by Enoch the gentile). This change of heart will make them refuse the mark and become martyred saints. Regarding the spiritual forces? Iron (angelic/demonic) will not mix with clay (man) – the feet and the ten toes of the end time world empire. They will not cleave to one another. Enoch will resist these forces as he did previously, until the Lord allows him to be killed with Elijah.

Matthew 24: “Preaching to all the world, and then the end will come” - When I read these words of Jesus I believe that he is talking about the work of the two witnesses because of the timing of the events he describes prior.

The things we are seeing right now in the world are these events prior, or as Jesus describes, birth pangs. He says when you see these events unfold “the end is not yet”. These events happening now are the earth quakes in diverse places, wars and rumors of wars, famine and pestilence, many will come in my name.

But now we await the two witnesses, which will be brought here at the time of the rapture, which I think will be a ‘pick-up and drop off’ event, so to speak. This must be coming next preceded by a great earth quake which will open the graves of the righteous dead. The dead will rise first and then those who are alive will be picked up and the two witnesses dropped off, to do the “preaching to all the world”. Why else would the world rejoice when they are killed? Their words and the preaching of truth in these dark times can only cause the world to rejoice when they are killed, as the truth will go against all the ways of this world and against the end time goals of the princes and principalities of the air.

Then the Great Tribulation will start as the anti-christ takes his seat in the temple and he will now be totally unobstructed. The spirit in him (satan) will know he has but a short time. Hence the mayhem to follow.

I would be interested to know your thoughts? I think it is Elijah and Enoch for now.

Hope you are keeping well. May the Lord bless you always. You have taught me so much over the years. I know the Lord has led me to your postings to help increase my understanding.

Marilyn Agee’s response:

Hi:

> > there seems to be more evidence for Enoch and Elijah as the two witnesses.

To me, it is just a matter of comparing Scripture with Scripture. The whole story is not given to us in one place. That is so it will not be apparent to the unbeliever. It is nonsense to him without the Holy Spirit that helps us understand it.

Rev 11:3,4 says, "And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the TWO OLIVE TREES, AND THE TWO CANDLESTICKS STANDING BEFORE THE GOD OF THE EARTH."

The God of the Earth is Jesus Christ. Isa. 44:6 says, "Thus saith the LORD (YHWH) the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD (YHWH) of hosts; I am the first (YHWH King of Israel), and I am the last (YHWH of hosts the redeemer; i.e., Jesus Christ); and beside me there is no God."

In John 10:30, Jesus said, "I and my Father are one."

Compare Rev 11:3,4 with Zec 4:11-17. It says, "Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two OLIVE TREES upon the right side of the CANDLESTICK and upon the left side thereof? And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves? And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. Then said he, THESE ARE THE TWO ANOINTED ONES, THAT STAND BY THE LORD OF THE WHOLE EARTH."

Compare this with Mark 9:2-4.

It says, "After six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. And there appeared unto them ELIAS with MOSES: and they were talking with JESUS."

Elias (Elijah) and Moses stood by Jesus, the Lord of the whole Earth.

There could very well be the sign of the cross in the sky before the Rapture. A large one, like a Sun Dog, was seen above Jerusalem about a whole day. To me, that would have to have been the Lord's doing. Sun Dogs just don't last that long naturally. They are rather rare anyway. If I remember right, there have to be ice crystals in the atmosphere for Sun Dogs to appear. I have never seen one, except in photos.
