Thanks to all who responded to my question. I do not deny that the
Cherokee Indians could be a lost tribe, but what I'm wondering is if
anyone knows if the Mormon church has made any statement about this and
claims it as proof of the book of Mormon. I've looked online and haven't
found any statements coming from the Mormon church, which surprises me, if
the DNA is proof of Jewish descent.  It would then support Joseph Smith's
stories, which is frightening!
I live in a very Mormon area and have seen the DNA proof against the book
of Mormon as a great wintnessing tool.  I just want to have an answer if
any Mormon ever asks me about it and claims it supports their religion.
Does anyone have any info on this?
