August 4, according to wikipedia, was the 9th of Av (Hebrew calendar) in 70 AD (Gregorian calendar) which was the day the Temple was destroyed and the removal the Jews from controlling/occupying Old Jerusalem including the Temple Mount UNTIL June 7th 1967 with the subsequent proclaimation 14 days later on June 28.
