"Mercer "Who did I tell about Jesus today""
I like your idea and would like to share a couple:
Linda
and I have a friend and fellow musician named Dennis that we have
witnessed to and especially Linda has prayed for over many years. He
has a new age sort of background and would not listen to the gospel. He
recently broke up with his girlfriend (she broke up with him) partly
because she is a Christian and she wanted him to be too, as well as
other issues with his insecurities that made him dishonest toward her
and out of fear of losing her, he acted in ways that were manipulative
and she finally set him free. Well, this is exactly what God needed to
get him to his knees and since then, he has been more open to listening
to us and even praying with us and he finally asked Jesus to be his
Lord and Savior and now refers to himself as a baby Christian. Not only
that but the biggest issue with him was that being a self employed
musician, he had some income tax issues that were in the way of his
girlfriend and he marrying until this was resolved and out of fear, he
was unwilling to even go to anyone for help. Fear was running his life
big time. But since he split with his girlfriend, he has learned to
call out to God and cast his cares onto Jesus and wait on Him for
strength and direction and now for the first time in years he is seeing
hope in his life. We have been so blessed by his progress and we know
that had Jesus come back sooner rather than later, Dennis would not
have had a chance. When Dennis gets into anything, he does so all the
way. We have always said he would make such a great Christian! Now we
are seeing it and are so grateful. Please pray that God would establish
Dennis and accomplish His perfect will in his life and be glorified.
Then
there's Andi, my brothers new wife. She had a tremendous problem with
anger toward Dave's (my brother, her husband) young adult daughter and
we counseled her to wait on the Lord for how to deal with this. Like
Dennis, God is using this issue to reach to her and teach her to go to
Him. also Dave has been learning to wait on God. At the point when they
were ready to give up thinking it was hopeless, God did a miracle and
reconciled step mom and step daughter in a way that only He could. More
than seeing results in specific areas it is our goal that they learn to
have a daily relationship with Jesus and these trials are means to that
end. As bad as I want to be raptured, I can see the mercy of God in
delaying as long as people like these examples (and there are others as
well in our life) are coming to know God personally.
Thank you for listening,
