"Resurrections
and Effect of Them"
Speaking of resurrections, just
a few more here and the effect they had on the witnesses and
those who were later told about them....Resurrections bring glory to
God.
Acts chapter 9
[36] Now
there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by
interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and
almsdeeds which she did.
[37] And it came to pass in those days, that she
was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid
her in an upper chamber.
[38] And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and
the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two
men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
[39] Then Peter arose and went with them. When he
was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows
stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas
made, while she was with them.
[40] But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled
down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And
she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
[41] And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and
when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
[42] And it was known throughout all Joppa; and
many believed in the Lord.(Jesus knew the power of [43]
And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon
a tanner.
========================
This resurrection
occured right in the middle of a
burial
procession in plain sight of the family and townspeople
Luke chapter 7
[11] And it
came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and
many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
[12] Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city,
behold, there was a dead man carried out,
the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the
city was with her.
[13] And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on
her, and said unto her, Weep not.
[14] And he came and touched the bier: and they
that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee,
Arise.
[15] And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered
him to his mother.
[16] And there came a fear on all: and they
glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up
among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
[17] And this rumour of him went
forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
More glory to God, and all
those there saw it and bare record of it. I believe the fear was more
of being in total awe of Jesus and
the power of God being shown in
supernatural acts such as raising this man from the dead. Jesus wanted
all to know and
understand the power of God
within Him. He didn't try to hide it and knew that just more glory
would go to God and that more
people would believe as they
saw His works.
===============================================
oh this
is a good one, even the dead buried there arose alive and went to town.
Glory
Hallelujah!!!
The 27th chapter
of the book of Matthew, remember that when Jesus died
or as the scripture says (gave
up the ghost....) we see the power of the
Holy Spirit in many evidences,
when the veil was torn from top to bottom,
earthquakes and rocks split and
one thing which we are talking about now
is that in verse
52, there were many resurrections of dead saints that
got up and went
into town, and many people saw them!!
(50]
Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
[51] And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in
twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the
rocks rent;
[52] And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the
saints which slept arose,
[53] And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into
the holy city, and appeared unto many.
[54] Now when the centurion, and they that were with
him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were
done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this
was the Son of God. You
know, the resurrection of folk already buried in a
cemetary and going into town,
will get the attention of people, ya think?
oh hallelujah ! (no
medical records available, none needed. The witnesses bare
record of these facts.)
Jesus is always
PRESENT TENSE.
John 11
..25]
Jesus said unto her, I AM
THE RESURRECTION and the life: he that
believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
