"X mark, black spot, treasure island, pirates..."

Ahoy there doves...

On the theme of rene’s post...

Has anyone noticed the strong connection between pirates and the antichrist:-

Zec 11:16  For, behold, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, who will not visit those who are cut off, neither will seek those who are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the flesh of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces.

Zec 11:17  Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock! The sword will be on his arm, and on his right eye. His arm will be completely withered, and his right eye will be totally blinded!"

The black spot is part of Robert Louis Stevenson’s story of treasure island, of course.

Pirate captains would have a patch over one eye and perhaps an arm or a leg missing. There seems to be a spiritual dimension to this, a kind of judgment in the flesh of an antichristian life. Cartoonists noticed (as I did on live TV) that when Tony Blair lost his cool over defending our involvement in Iraq, his visage changed momentarily and his right eye darkened.(I am not suggesting Blair is antichrist, far from it, he may be the prince of the covenant of dan 11:22 but we shall have to wait and see on that).

Note this also:-

Eze 28:2  Son of man, tell the prince of Tzor, Thus says the Lord GOD: Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet you are man, and not God, though you did set your heart as the heart of God--

The man who thinksI am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas”. Pirates, of course, have their ‘trade’ in the midst of the high seas.
