"Rumblings of Gog and Magog"

Today, July 19th, the Iranian president met with the leaders of Syria and Hezbollah in Damascus.
Here is a quote from his press conference: "We hope the summer will bring victories to the region's nations and failures to their enemies."   We have also heard that Syria has pulled out all of its citizens from Lebanon in anticipation for what "may" erupt in that country as well as reports that there is an ominous quietness in the jordan valley.

I would also like to point out that I do find it interesting that Russia just endured a major strain to its relationship in the west with Britain kicking out 4 russian diplomats.  Russia retaliated by doing the same to 4 british diplomats and stated that they will no longer be cooperative in the war on terror.  I do not believe that Russia wants to be in that war, but they will protect their allies as the west has been isolating Russia more and more in recent years.

The one final piece of the Gog-Magog puzzle is also starting to look like it is falling into place.  I often wondered how Turkey could possibly be involved.  Well, with the continual denial of membership into the EU and what appears to be a straining relationship with the US because of our stance with the Kurds of Northern Iraq.  Turkey and Iran both have large kurdish populations that want a free and independant Kurdistan.  To top that off, it has been reported that both Syria and Israel are using Turkey as a mediator.  When Turkey sees that the US (even indirectly) has armed the PKK, I expect that the Syrian-Isreali peace talks to break down and that Turkey may be looking to distance itself from the alienating West (EU and US) and go to a much more receptive and natural alliance with Russia and Iran.  I say natural because Iran and Turkey both have problems with the kurds.
