"Intelligent Design Victory in Europe"

To the Lord be praised that in Europe a major victory and thanks to the ECLJ the European part of the ACLJ

Our legal counterparts in Europe (European Centre for Law and Justice) went to bat to keep intelligent design as a viable teaching in European schools ... and we won!

Our team of excellent lawyers and researchers at the ECLJ put together a 14-page document in response to proposed legislation that would - in essence - outlaw the discussion of Creationism in the classroom.

The language in the proposed law went as far as to call it ''a threat to human rights'' - an assertion we could not stand for!

Our report pointed out that the result of passing the legislation would be the prevention of academic and educative discussions between the theory of intelligent design and the theory of evolution.

It would restrict a student's ability to examine competing points of view ... violating freedom of expression and hampering the free exercise of religion.

We called on the Council of Europe to reject the proposed resolution.

And they did.

I invite you to read our memorandum to the Council of Europe in its entirety online now.

This was a significant victory for the ECLJ, and another example of how quickly we respond when the religious liberties and constitutional freedoms of people of faith are in jeopardy.

Thank you for the important role you play in the work we do on a daily basis to fight for the issues most important to conservative, God-honoring citizens - like you. Our victories are your victories.

You can stay abreast of our ongoing cases, late-breaking news, legal victories, and more by tuning in to both our nationally televised program ACLJ This Week and our Jay Sekulow Live! radio program.

Thank you again for your support and prayers.
