As we wait for the "other shoe to drop" concerning war in the Middle
East, a dove died tonight at my house.
The poor bird must have flown into the wall and dropped with a broken
neck.

When I first saw it, it looked like a headless bird just sitting there,
with its front claws all neat, and its back tail in order.  But no
head!

I thought, is this something an animal did?  But there was no blood.

Then I thought, is this some satanic ritual, to behead a dove?

Then I tiptoed gingerly around it and saw its poor head hanging down,
twisted.   Oh God!  I felt for the poor creature, even if its death
must have been swift.

But then I thought of the Five Doves, this site.  And I mused, it's
symbolic, the death of a dove, for war is coming.

I dread the horror, even if it fulfills prophecy.  For innocents will
die violently, as well as the guilty.

Lord, have mercy.
