Dear friends:I don't know about you, but it ticks me off to dial a business and hear a recording say, "Press 1 for English."
Why should I have to press anything for anything?
This is America, an English-speaking country. Americans should not have to press anything. Just let me speak to someone who speaks American, and let me speak with them now!
If they want to say, "Press 1 for Spanish," or "Press 2 for Swahili," or whatever, I suppose it's okay to provide that service, but just don't make me have to jump through their linguistic and politically correct hoops.
I think we should start a campaign of complaining to management every time we hear "Press 1 for English." If enough people do it, it may get their attention. I recently did it after finally being able to speak with a human being. The person was shocked that anyone dare question this new "culturally sensitive" procedure. That offends my own cultural sensitivities, which is what they should be concerned about.
This short video makes my point! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEJfS1v-fU0
Adios, amigos,
