"WiMax mobile internet to
go nationwide over the USA"
The third-largest US
wireless carrier Sprint-Nextel yesterday said it had chosen Google to provide
web search, email, instant messaging and other online tools to subscribers of
the country's first nationwide WiMax wireless network that Sprint is currently building.
The companies expect the network to
go live to 100 million people by the end of next year [ 2008 ] . When completed
in mid-2010, the network would be available to 300 million
Americans, according to Sprint.
