Wade Balzer, thank you so much for sharing. Amazing, your precise 99990 ... 100000 ...literally “near the mark” experience!
And yes: “No matter what we are going through, remember that you are always where you need to be when you are trusting God. HE always directs our path.”
Praise the Lord!
4) “Near the mark”
This is my experience from July 7, 2007 (7/7/7) I like to share (sorry my English is not very good, I hope you’ll understand)
Our two daughters attend a Christian parochial school (junior high). Since many weeks the whole secondary school - more than hundred pupils - were learning and practicing a 2 hour musical.
On Last Saturday (July 7 = 7/7/7) was the very first release. I asked the young woman teacher who was responsible for this project if she did plan to release on that unique date or if it “just happened by chance”..., well, she said, “by chance ...” - however it seemed to be “by Heavenly direction”.
The musical was written and composed already 2001 - 2004 by the German choir director Gerhard Schnitter, a modern mixture of Pop, Soul and choral music, new spiritual music.
The title in German is: “Nah dran”. This could perhaps be translated into English in this way: Close, or near, or nigh, “at it”, or perhaps best: “Near the mark”.
There are total 14 songs and pieces of scenes.
Although our daughters did rehearse the play since many weeks I came to know the whole story line not until last week.
Here is the plot in short:
Two (Sally and Connie) are going to the airport and like to book a ‘last minute flight’. The travel agency is offering e.g. “adventure flights” such as flights to exotic countries, inclusive guarantees for risky (noxious) live experiences (like HIV) etc. When they were thinking about the “attractive” however expensive offers... all at once there was an announcement by the airport loudspeaker:
“Ladies and gentlemen, be ready to board the plane of “Paradise Airlines” to the Paradise Islands...at Terminal 1....”
Wow, the two tourists were surprised by the announcement and asked the travel agency about that. He unwillingly explained that this flight is total free of charge and goes to the “Paradise Islands” where everything is supposedly absolute beautiful. The two marvelled and doubted if that could be true?
Again the loudspeaker was heard. However, many people came back from Terminal 1 ...surging to Terminal 2.
Sally and Connie asked them, why they all are returning from Terminal 1 and going to Terminal 2. They answered, “there are not many there at Terminal 1 and it seems anyway to be ‘uninteresting’ ...we changed our mind ... now we like to go to the Terminal 2, ...where the ‘Hell’s Airlines’ are flying to (Tierra del Fuego) the ‘Land of Fire’... there are already so many people ...”
A “guide” in a black suit and with dark glasses appeared and did lure the people: “Don’t hesitate! Come to Terminal 2!”
He promised “hot fire”, and told that all friends and folks and kinsman are already there...
“The price? It is not important, it has to be paid not until ‘the end’... and you can take a great deal of baggage as much as you want...”
While the two tourists were undetermined... a man (his name was Jan) came, he was well and white dressed...
He told that he is going to Terminal 1 and he invited and even urged the two who were still undecided...
Jan had no baggage. He explained them that they have to leave behind all baggage: “This is the condition to get onboard at the ‘Paradise Airlines’. Otherwise you would be rejected.”
He urged them to check in, and leave behind all baggage... if so, they will get also white dresses. He said, in Paradise Island there is a “ban on imports” of all baggage... because the baggage that are: all the personal injustice, envy, self-righteousness, sin...
He also explained that the tickets are already paid: A man who was nailed to a cross paid the price with his own live long time ago...
...Finally Sally and Connie did check in, leaving behind all baggage... and after they were dressed white they were filled with great joy.
A new announcement was heard, immediately to go onboard at Terminal 1... however the “guide” in black still did try to lure them away...
Now the two got a cell phone call from their mother. With great joy they told her that they are waiting at Terminal 1 for the flight to the “Paradise Islands”. They asked
pardon for the things they did wrong in the past. Now they had great joy and they urged her mother not to fly with the “Hell’s Airline” but to come as quickly as possible to the Terminal 1 ...the time is short...
While they were waiting at the gate... they heard a voice...
Jan explained: This is His voice: He personally is coming to meet us... Their joy was overwhelming; they almost could not believe that the ‘head’ of the “Paradise Islands” personally likes to come to meet them...
Even some songs were unusually loud; surely it was a thought-provoking musical on a unique date...7/7/7...
Deeply moved I listened to the final three songs:
“He is coming...”
“We are very close ... near the mark ...”
Before the very last song (the # 14) the “guide” deserted the scene, smirking and cynically shouting, “folks, this is the end of the musical, go home, this was just a game, ...forget the story ...discuss about the sound of the music...and do not listen to the following last song...”
Here is a photo from the memorable musical performance on 7/7/7, showing the saved remnant waiting at the gate... singing and praying:
the last song:
“Maranatha, Come Lord Jesus...Maranatha ... With great hope and longing we are praying: Lord Jesus, Come... Maranatha...”

P.S.
Sunday July 8, (7/8/7)
“Boeing unveils Dreamliner plane
...The Dreamliner is Boeing's first all-new plane since the 777, which began flying in 1995...”
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6282820.stm
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, YOUR 787 DREAMLINER’”
A plane for the world
Ceremony transmitted via satellite across the globe...
....But even as Boeing employees enjoyed a respite from the pressure to produce the first plane by Sunday’s symbolic 7-08-07 date, the greatest push still lay ahead. While the plane that debuted Sunday appeared complete, Boeing still has much work to do to get the aircraft ready for its September first flight...

Ladies and gentlemen,
Brethren,
Let’s check in
and hurry to Terminal 1,
“...forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus....” (Philippians 3)
HE is coming
we are near the mark
it is close
how very close...
Maranatha Come Lord Jesus

WINDOW SEAT: On July 11th, Doc Searls (http://doc.weblogs.com/discuss/msgReader$8117 ) was taking a redeye flight from San Francisco to London when a solar wind stream hit Earth. High over northern Minnesota, he says, "I looked out the window and got the treat that I seek every day in SpaceWeather but tend to miss because I live in Santa Barbara." In short, the aurora borealis:

"The auroras seemed to be only yards away. I got out my Canon 30D and shot away, making liberal use of the dark blanket supplied by United Airlines.
The plane, for what it's worth, was a Boeing 777 and my seat was 14a near the front of the wing.
Another solar wind stream is due July 14th. Air travellers, take your cameras and remember this: Seat 14a. ..."
