I, for one, have not read anything by this person you have mentioned. This is a very very old interpretation. Damascus is still a city, a very large powerful city. It will be perpetualy destroyed just like it says in the bible. It will never rise again to be a city. It is a major player in the next ME conflict and a very big target, and home to most of the Islamic terror organizations. It will be utterly destroyed. End of story.
