First, wars, rumors of wars
2nd Earthquakes, famines
3rd Abomination of
Desolation
4th Fig tree coming alive and sprouting leaves.
The generation that sees all these things in that order will not pass away.
First of all, wars and rumors of wars is not even first in the list. The initial event described by Christ is that the buildings of the temple would be cast down (Matthew 24: 2 -- Mark 13: 2 -- Luke 21: 6). This is not outside what our Lord taught concerning the endtimes, because in the subsequent verses we see that His disciples clearly understood the implications of such an event, and it led to their question as to what would be the sign of His coming and of the end of the age.
Additionally, wars and rumors of wars is not even second on the list. For the second thing of which our Lord spoke, was the deception of false prophets.
Can I get an "AMEN" on that one?
"And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed
that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying,
I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
- Matthew 24: 4-5
- Mark 13: 5-6
- Luke 21: 8
Continuing on, to suggest that earthquakes follow wars and rumors of war in a chronological sequence, is to teach there will not be earthquakes or famine prior to said wars and rumors thereof. Nonsense. There was an earthquake in the days of Peres, and then again during the time of Moses, when all the disidents were swallowed up in the midst of the camp.
If one is going to suggest the events described by Christ are chronological, then the Abomination of Desolation would occur after everything
ends, since that is how it is presented in the Gospel of Matthew:
"And this gospel of the kingdom shall be
preached in all the world for a witness unto
all nations; and then shall the end come.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination
of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let
him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judea flee into
the mountains."
- Matthew 24: 14-16
Finally, to suggest that the rebirth of the Nation of Israel and the recapture of Jerusalem (the budding of the fig tree), is last on the endtime sequence of events, is ludicrous. Without the dramatic fulfilment of God's prophetic word, spoken hundreds of times in the Old Testament, concerning the return of the Jews to their God-covenanted
land ... there would be no final generation.
Every single generation since the time of Christ has had false prophets, wars and rumors of wars, as well as earthquakes and famines. But until the Jews returned to the land in 1948, and then subsequently recaptured Jerusalem in 1967, none of those signs meant anything.
The return of the Jews to their God-covenanted land, is the sign of the end.
See ya in the air,
