"Elizabeth's question "Where is the Church?'"

Where is the Church in all of this? I look around and it seems just like "everyday routine" but inside of me, there is an urgency -- like I
want to tell others "Jesus is coming!!!! Get Ready!! This is it!!! Is it
just me? ( Help me out here, Doves...) What do you think?
  Sincerely,
  Elizabeth

You are not alone, Elizabeth.  I remember as a child in the 1950s-60s, I was told that Revelation was apocryphal and filled with symbolism.  Nobody studied it.  It was mysterious.  The same with Daniel and with Ezekial.  They sort of skipped over the signs of the Last Days in the New Testament.  It was just impossible to understand or so I was told.
I don't remember even thinking we could possibly be living in the Last Days until June, 1967 when Israel won the Six Days War.  I listened with eager anticipation to the news.  Amazingly, I was not surprised and I was convinced at that point we were going to see Jesus returning soon.  However, I did not hear anything at church about it.  The studies I did were on my own with a Bible commentary my parents had given me for a gift.

Then about 1972, I was in a Sunday School Class and we studied Revelation and it was awesome.  We had an evangelist about that time who also preached on the Last Days and I was convinced Jesus would come soon.

Since then, some 35 years ago, I have heard very little about the Rapture and End Times in the Church.  I have read a very good book written by a pastor here in OK, but when I visited the church, he didn't mention the Rapture or the End Times.

My pastor preaches the Gospel but does not actually go into prophesy or the End Times.

I have asked the same question myself.  With all the signs and all the nations gathered for war against Israel, why are we not being blasted with this from the pulpit.  I think the pastors are leery of being labeled as one of those guys who wore long white robes and wore the sandwich signs that said "Repent!!  The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand!"   They are leery about trying to figure out the dates.

When I bring it up at Sunday School, it is treated with slight amusement.  Sort of "There she goes again!"   My family says I am obsessed with it.  I am just so eager to go and to be with Jesus and to see Heaven.

And I am so hungry for His Word.  I want to know what the Bible says about the End of Days.  I want to know what signs to look for.  I have been amazed at the number of references in the Bible to this time.  I have been highlighting them and they are numerous.  Some are just one verse long hidden in amongst other verses.

So, you are not alone.  There are many of us watching and waiting and longing for that Day.
