"Culture War of Words by
Michael Reagan"
I was raised in the 1950's, graduating from high school
in the 1960s. I never heard the F word. I knew what the S word
meant but not the B word. Maybe I was sheltered but I don't think
so. The children and teens of my growing up years did not use those
terms in polite company. Now the football team with their sense of
false bravado may have used it in the locker room, but not in public.
Their parents would have tanned their hide with our coach's assistance.
My principals in school were men who had fought in WWII
and come home to complete their education and try to teach us stuff.
My high school history teacher was a concert violinist with the local symphony.
We had Bible classes in school for credit. Gay meant happy, carefree.
Queer meant strange, different. Homosexual? What was that?
Now we are having witchcraft (wiccan) shoved down our
children's throats as a classic Harry Potter series. I am sure one
of them will be invited to the Senate soon to invoke satan. Homosexuality
as an alternate lifestyle is being taught in our schools as early as 3rd
grade. Sexual harrassment suits have been filed on elementary school
children who may or may not know what that means.
This is indicative of the new age, world focused culture
many people are blindly embracing!
