"AS ARIEL SHARON'S FLESH WAXES LEAN"

DOES ARIEL SHARON DIE DURING THE 'BEIN HAMEITZARIM' THE PERIOD ‘WITHIN THE STRAITS?’

Will Damascus be destroyed by Israel’s nuclear weapons during the middle of the night and be no more (Isaiah 17:1 and 14), as the fat of their flesh fades and wax leans, just as the former glory of Israel, Ariel Sharon’s flesh is now waning and waxing lean. (Isaiah 17: 3b and 4) Isn’t his life now ‘between the straits’, at this very moment?

We are now between 17th of Tammuz and the Tisha B’Av these ‘21 days’ have historically been days of calamity, mourning and sorrow for Israel’s people. (Isaiah 17:11b) During this time, both the First and Second Temples were destroyed.

The Fast of Tammuz kicks off this period traditionally known as 'bein hameitzarim' or the 'period within the straits'. That day began on the evening of July 12, 2006 this year, the very day the Hezbollah rockets began to hit Israel, and ends on the evening of August 3, 2006, the 9th of Av on the Hebraic calendar, which is the Fast day of Tisha B'Av. (Isaiah 17:11b)

During this time, various aspects of mourning are observed by the entire nation, minimizing joy and celebration. And, since the attribute of Divine judgment is acutely felt, (Isaiah 17:13) civilians avoid potentially dangerous or risky endeavors.

ISAIAH 17:1 The burden of Damascus, Behold, and Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap. 2 The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid. 3 The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the king (President Assad) from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, (flesh wax lean like Ariel Sharon's) saith the LORD of hosts.

4 And in that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Jacob (Ariel Sharon) shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall wax lean. 5 And it shall be as when the harvestman gathers the corn, and reaps the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathers ears in the valley of Rephaim.

6 Yet gleaning grapes shall be left in it, (a remnant of Israel) as the shaking of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the outmost fruitful branches thereof, saith the LORD God of Israel. 7 At that day shall a man look to his Maker, and his eyes shall have respect to the Holy One of Israel. 8 And he shall not look to the altars, the work of his hands, neither shall respect that which his fingers have made, either the groves, or the images.

9 In that day shall his strong cities be as a forsaken bough, and an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel (Samson nuclear option): and there shall be desolation. 10 Because thou hast forgotten the God of thy salvation, and hast not been mindful of the rock of thy strength, therefore shall you plant pleasant plants, and shall set it with strange slips: 11 In the day shall you make thy plant to grow, and in the morning shall you make thy seed to flourish: but the harvest shall be a heap in the day of grief and of desperate sorrow. (Fast of the 9th of Av?)

12 Woe to the multitude of many people, which make a noise like the noise of the seas; and to the rushing of nations, that make a rushing like the rushing of mighty waters! 13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but God shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. 14 And behold at evening time trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.

ANOTHER HARVEST IN THE ‘VALLEY OF REPHAIM’

Does Isaiah 17:5 hint at a 9th of Av fulfillment, the text below was also on that very day!

It was also on the 9th of Av 1312 BCE, which Israel accepted the slanderous report of the 10 Spies, and the decree was issued forbidding them from entering the Land of Israel.

Numbers 13:23-24 They came to the Eshkol Valley; and there they cut off a branch bearing one cluster of grapes, which they carried on a pole between two of them; they also took pomegranates and figs. 24 That place was called the Valley of Eshkol, because of the cluster which the people of Israel cut down there.

Numbers 13:31-33 But the men who had gone with him said, "We can't attack those people, because they are stronger than we are"; 32 and they spread a negative report about the land they had reconnoitered for the people of Israel by saying, "The land we passed through in order to spy it out is a land that devours its inhabitants. All the people we saw there were giant! 33 We saw the Nefilim, the descendants of 'Anak, who was from the Nefilim; to ourselves we looked like grasshoppers by comparison, and we looked that way to them too!"
