Here in Kansas City, we all noticed the exact same thing!  We wondered if it was because of the economy or what. But, I left the fireworks display feeling the same as I have a lot lately--with the feeling, "Is this All there is?"
 
It seems as though I just go through the paces of a normal life, and afterall, all we can do is occupy until He comes.  But, for sure things of this world are fading away...and growing increasingly dim. Halleluyah!
