"Re: Nostradamus"
John, I am fully aware of how Jim's
post began. The fact that it was even posted as Nostradamus was a false
prophet, interesting or not, is questionable, and if it could possibly
lead anyone astray would be very risky. You thought I missed out what Jim
said. If you were that easily fooled and are a mature discerning Christian,
then how easily would immature believers who lack discernment have missed
that and gone off to learn more about the "prophecies" of Nostradamus.
There are way too many things not of God, that have been tested against
the truth of the Word, that are passed off as being "interesting". I'm
sure Eve thought it was interesting that the serpent spoke to her.
We are not to even entertain such
other doctrines, and 1 Peter 5:8 warns us to "BE SOBER, BE VIGILANT; because
your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom
he may devour." To be vigilant is to be on alert, on guard, on the
outlook for enemies and deception. Jesus told us many false prophets and
false teachers would abound, but He did not tell us to pay attention to
the interesting things they said. He warned us that if the elect could
be deceived, they would be. Deceived by who or what? False teachers and
prophecies!
