"1948, 2006, 2007"
Last
week it was mentioned that Noah died 2006 years from Creation and that
Abraham was born 1948 years from Creation.
I found the
1948 parallel intriguing, but at first I said "no" because in my chronology
I have his birth at 2008 years from Creation. The "problem" is that both
are in a sense correct. In Genesis 11:26 Abram (Abraham) is born when Terah
is seventy making it year 1948 from Adam. However when we read on we find
that Abraham was born when Terah was 130 years old (Genesis 11:31-12:4)
because Abraham was 75 when Terah died at 205. Is this a contradiction?
No. The situation is the same with Noah when he had his three sons at 500
years of age, 100 years before the Flood. Later we find out that Shem was
actually born 98 years before the Flood (Genesis 11:10).
The conclusion
is that Noah's family started at 100 years before the Flood and Terah's
family began when he was 70. Two very important numbers that are highlighted
and at the beginning of the Bible (along with forty).
It seems to
me that though Abraham was born when Terah was 130, God deliberately reveals
the importance of 1948 years from Adam. That being similar to AD 1948 when
Israel was reborn as a nation. The highlight of 70 years is also significant
since 70 years from 1948 places us at 2018 or 2017 if we use 360 day years
(the window of a generation until Christ comes in Glory).
What is most
fascinating with the 60 year difference (Terah at 70 and Terah at 130)
is that if we count 60 360-day years (21,600 days) from and including May
14, 1948, we will come to July 3, 2007, which is the 17th of Tammuz--the
beginning day of sorrows. This is in my book, but I did not see the
beauty of the "discrepancy" of Genesis 11-12.
Incidentally,
Abraham would have also been conceived in the year 2007 from Adam. Are
the parallels semi-clear?
So a "discrepancy"
in Genesis actually seems to point to 1948 and 2007 and the importance
of a 70 year generation to what seems to be 2017 as examined in the book,
Signs of the End.
Couple this
with the days of Noah ending at year 2006 from Creation and also the 40
360-day years from and including June 7, 1967 to November 8, 2006 (Heshavan
17--the day the Flood rains began), the picture quickly unfolds. Rosh Hashanah
is at the doors.
There may
be only eleven weeks left until Rapture/Resurrection Day. I hope to see
you there when the Trumpet sounds, if you have put your faith in the rock
of our salvation--Jesus the Christ. I also hope for a full table of those
who have been faithful in watching for their Lord's return.
