The kidnappings in Gaza occurred on June 25, 2006. If we count this day and then to August 3, 2006, we will see that it is 40 days. The significance? When the 12 spies returned and put fear in the heart of Israel (the Exodus) it was the 9th of Av. They then served 40 years in the wilderness for each day that the spies were spying. August 3rd is the ninth of Av and we may have another 40 day period of significance paralleling the Exodus generation. It would seem that August 3rd may hold some event of significance.
