Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's just inflation, or coincidence, but I'm curious as to whether anyone else noticed a marked reduction in the size of this years fireworks displays last night. The reason I would notice this is because from my unique viewing point on a nearby neighbor's hill where we have been watching fireworks displays on the 4th of July for years, you can see nearly 360 degrees and view as many as six or seven displays going on at once. Most of them miles away on the horizon out near the coast. Others inland and the nearest one just a few blocks away at the local park.
In years past, the displays have always been very impressive, to the point that I mistook some sections of the show to be the "grand finally" only to realize that there was yet more and by the time the grand finally did happen it truly was GRAND! (And also, I've noticed something strange, that some of the shows have been identical to each other, but not this year.)
This year was completely different. Our local show, by comparison to other year's shows was quite disappointing. And glancing around at all the other shows on the horizon, I noticed that they ALL were likewise very small compared to other years. In fact, I don't think there even was a grand finally, it just sort of petered out with hardly a special extra large number of fireworks at the end like you usually see... I was stunned and kept thinking that can't be the end, is it? and it was... All the way around...
Call me wacky, but I feel some kind of spiritual significance to this, if indeed we are on the brink of the end of this age, could this be a very subtle indicator? Or am I just thinking too much about it?
I'd love to know if anyone else noticed anything similar in their area.
