SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., July 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- "The Crusade for Life walk participants want to send a clear message to Rep. Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record) that her outspoken support for abortion is diametrically opposed to the teachings of the Catholic faith," said David Dufresne, assistant director of American Life League's Crusade for the Defense of Our Catholic Church. "Rep. Pelosi has a tremendous opportunity to make a difference for life as one of the most powerful Catholics in Congress. Unfortunately, she has chosen to support the very act that destroys life rather than protect it. For this reason, we will be outside of Rep. Pelosi's San Francisco office on Tuesday, July 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., peacefully proclaiming the truth that you can't be both Catholic and pro-abortion."
The Crusade for Life walk, sponsored by American Life League, consists of 15 college students from across the United States and Mexico walking over 800 miles through the state of California, exposing the scandals created by public figures that support abortion yet claim Catholicism as their faith. The walkers arrived in the Bay area on July 15 and will spend the remainder of the week peacefully protesting the offices of known pro- abortion Catholic politicians, praying in front of 15 abortion clinics, and speaking at Catholic churches.
Tuesday's peaceful demonstration will also focus on State Sen. Jackie Speier, also a pro-abortion Catholic politician. Sen. Speier's office is located in the same building as Rep. Pelosi.
