"My first Shabbat"

Dearest Doves,

Last Saturday was the day I was invited to the Messianic Congregration to hear Taysir Abu Saada (nicknamed Tass), (the former PLO Fatah sniper for Yasser Arafat) speak.  What a glorious day for me, seeing the Jewish traditions, the shofars and the roots of our faith, as well as an awesome testimony from a former Jew hater!  You can read about his testimony at www.hopeforishmael.com .  It was so moving to hear of him tell of asking to go back home to Saudi Arabia to visit his family after being saved, and having his brother tell him that he could come, but to know once there he would kill him for disgracing the family because of turning away from Islam!  His brother even met his plane with a gun in his tunic!  Only because of the love he showed for his family, did they relent and decide not to kill him during his visit.  Can you imagine this? (The love of Jesus shining through believers works miracles!)  He still interceeds for his family that is still bound up in Islam.

He also spoke about his 10-15 minute audience with Yasser Arafat to witness to him, that lasted for 2 hours.  Everything he said about how carefully you have to word everything while witnessing to those in the Middle East, made me realize my limited capabilities to help these ministries, as I was wanting to do.  All I could accomplish is to be a warm body in a group of protesters in Gaza. I was prepared to go and stand with God's people there, and have prayed about it, but the Lord has not lead me that way, because of my lack of understanding of their cultures and religion I would be very ineffective. Instead, I felt lead to give these ministries the amount of what the trip would have cost me.  They are the modern apostles in their own countries, and are so deserving of our help.  And the good news is that they ARE effective with those they minister to!  Tass is seeing many former Muslims saved!  Glory to God!

Tass shined a light on the story of creation that I had not realized before.  On the first 5 days of creation, God spoke the creation into being.  BUT, on the sixth day when He created man, (and Tass got down on his knees) He scooped up the dust of the earth with HIS HANDS and created man!  Then He held the man in His capable arms and lovingly bent down and as though kissing him, breathed into him the breath of life!  It's that awesome!!!

Tass was born in Gaza, (his parents moved to Saudi Arabia when he was 2 mos old) and he told also of his amazing trip to minister there.  I was astounded at the soul saving that is being accomplished in the Holy Land.  We certainly never hear about it in the news, since they have to meet underground.  But, the church there IS growing, and the new believers are being equipped to start new congregations.  Tass' ministry is mostly directed at the Arabs there, but he certainly loves his Jewish brothers now and also ministers to them!  We covered him in prayer, and then at 2pm, I went back to hear a beautiful little Jewish man named Ye'shi Reinhardt from Jerusalem.

Ye'shi spoke and showed videos of his ministry in Jerusalem. His ministry is to the terror victims, whether visiting them in hospitals, or caring for orphans, or healing broken hearts caused by wars and hatred, and support for families and individuals.  His non-profit website is www.israel-handsofmercy.org  What a blessing this sweet man was to me!  We had intercessory prayer for him and Davidic dancers worshipped as well.  He did tell me I should come to Israel sometime, but he himself will not be there for another two months.  But, they are doing amazing things in the Holy Land right now.  Most of all both of these blessed men asked that believers continue to cover them in prayer and ask for God's help in softening the hard hearts of the unbelievers there, as time is SO short.  Also, Ye'shi's ministry "Hands of Mercy," offers the opportunity for concerned believers around the world to become personally involved in the healing and recovery process of a wounded Israeli soldier or victim-family through their Adoption-Sponsorship Program.  He is currently in the US speaking to various groups and Orthodox Jewish Rabbis (a tough audience) of his love for Jesus.  I hope you'll join me in continued prayer for this demanding and successful ministry they have!  All in all, it was one great day for this Gentile gal, and a one blessed day worshipping the Lord together with my Arab and Jewish brothers in Christ!  I wish you all could have been there to share it with me!

Also, a few days ago, my friend who had invited me, sent me the sermon notes from his friend Asher, who is spreading the gospel of Jesus in other parts of the world.  These notes in particular below I thought would interest all of you:

What is God doing? God creates people. He is creating this dual group of people.
- He is not looking at the devil's plan, but at His plan; not at the world, but the remnant of faith within the world.
- That remnant has two parts; a big part and a little part. Rev. 7:4
- The little one is the remnant of Israel; number 144,000. We don't have that many yet but we are growing. Getting closer. Not an impossible number. Not even difficult in faith.
- Some - 7,000 - 144,000 - All Israel. We're already at now the 7,000 remnant; going for the 144,000
- The big part is the remnant from all nations. That includes your nation. Rev. 7:9
- No man can count. That sounds like Asian, Chinese, India believers who come to faith in the end times.
- The two groups are connected in this passage and therefore connected spiritually and in relationship/reconciliation
- They are saved AND sealed. Sealed to go through the tribulation, have victory over the devil, and to win millions to faith in the great harvest.

Shabbot Shalom almost,

Kay
