Hello John and friendsConcerning this "Day of the Lord" if we review the scriptures in the Old
Testament will we see it was a time Israel viewed as the wrath of God, and
a time they certainly werent to seek. Such as: Amos 5:18 Woe to you who long
for the day of the LORD!
Why do you long for the day of the LORD ?
That day will be darkness, not light.Isaiah 13: 9 See, the day of the LORD is coming
-a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger-
to make the land desolate
and destroy the sinners within it.10 The stars of heaven and their constellations
will not show their light.
The rising sun will be darkened
and the moon will not give its light.11 I will punish the world for its evil,
the wicked for their sins.
I will put an end to the arrogance of the haughty
and will humble the pride of the ruthless. But in the New Testament we begin to see a postive picture of the "Day of
the Lord".Peter declared this a great and glorius Day in Acts 2:20, and
also we see the Thessalonians thought they missed this day in 2 Thess
2:1-2. Paul declared here also the assembly of believers and the coming of
the Lord Jesus Christ. And Just as Peter declared in Acts 2 the sun to darkness and moon to
blood, this event happens at 6th seal. This is the time in Dan 2 after the
great coming war in the seal judgements when God sets up his kingdom, and
also when the 10 kings begin to assemble their kingdoms, bringing forth
the wrath of God.
