"Paul Phelp's Letter"
Hi John & All:
First of all, I am glad to hear of the positive things which occurred in relation to John's brother, as a result no doubt of much godly prayer around the world. God is a good God.
Secondly, I also very much appreciated Jovial's post regarding the 360-day calendar.
However, I would also like to point out a seeming error in support given by brother Paul Phelp's in his supportive post.
Mr. Phelps wrote:
There is Biblical indication that months were 30 days in pre-Flood times but that still does not mean that years were 360 days. In our world now the solar year has approximately 12.37 lunar months and IT MAY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY. In that case, the pre-Flood year may have been about 371.25 days (instead of the present 365.25). There is Bible evidence that months were once 30 days, but THERE IS NO EVIDENCE that years ever were 360 days.
While I agree that at some point there may indeed have been 30 day months, as evidenced in the Book of Genesis, nevertheless if that is the case, then it follows the year length (in days), would have needed to be a multiple of 30 (whether 330, 360 or 390). Failing the year length being a mulitple of 30 days, the feast days outlined by God in His Word, would be shifting around in different parts of the year, as also Jovial has pointed out in his article.
Using the 371.25 day year as an example, the last month of the year (the 13th month), would have been 11.25 days in length to end the year ... and started off the new year with the remaining 18.75 days (to complete its required 30 day month), thereby delaying the start of the first month by 2.5 weeks.
The second year would end therefore on the 22nd day of the 12th month (the 371st day), and and the next year would not start with the remaining 8 days of the 12th month ... as well as the 30 days of the required 13th month (a given in a 371.25 day calendar). In this situation, the 1st day of the 1st month is now starting 38 days late (about 5.5 weeks).
In the 3rd year the 1st day of the 1st month would be 57 days late ... and so on and so on. As Jovial has pointed out, in about 8 years time, the spring feasts would be in the fall, and the designated fall feasts would be in the spring.
My point is that you can't have all 30 day months without a year length in days that is a mulitple of 30, failing which all of God's designated feast days will shift further and futher away from their appointed time of celebration.
See ya in the air,
Eric

Thanks, Eric. I hope you continue to work on your number 43 because I am still working on it! :)
