"Status Update Friday 7/29"

It was a tumultuous week, (I will spare you the gory details), but as it stands now, I am starting on Monday with a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) firm in Newport Beach, as an internal auditor.  This company is growing like gangbusters, overflowing an entire 8 story office bldg, and taking up space in all the surrounding bldgs.  They have broken ground for a new bldg, which the company will own, so everyone can be under one roof (at least for a while)!

There are some x-BofA internal auditors there, so I should feel right at home.  This company has never had an internal audit group before, but due to their size and growth and SEC requirements, that have to have one.  One of the former BofA auditors there is a born-again Christian!  I was flabbergasted when that (accidentally) came out in the interview.  This gal is the right hand "man" for the new head of the audit dept........could it mean the manager of the dept. is a Christian too?????  Probably too much to hope for.  I'll take just one fellow comrade in the Lord's army and be grateful at that.

Today I spent at a local computer school brushing up on Visio, which I haven't used in several years and have come to realize has changed quite a bit in recent years......much more powerful than before.  I used to only be able to do the bare minimum on Visio to do flowcharts of business processes.  But now with my new training, I should be able to do circles around one else in the office (unless they are a Visio expert....which most auditors are not!)

Anyway, this is my big "test"!   Since I became seriously ill last fall and winter, this will be the first time I have tried to hold down a normal job.  The location is about a 45 minute commute south at normal freeway speeds, so I'm expecting it to take an hour and 15 minutes or more to get there each day during rush hours and drive home.  That will be an additional "test", but perhaps the Lord knows I am ready for it now.  (I had hoped for a position like this near my home, but it never paned out.)

I thought about trying to relocate to Newport Beach before the job starts, but became dizzy this week at all the details and all that it would require to move.  I guess one step at a time.  Lets wait to see if the job works out first, then attempt the humongous task of relocating.

Oh here is the best news of all:  NO AIR TRAVEL!!!!!  NONE AT ALL!!!!  The whole company is located in Newport Beach, so auditors aren't even issued laptops!  They get desk top PCs, which are much faster!  No lugging around laptops anywhere!   Wierd!  But it sounds Wonderful to me!

OK, I know you are all weary of praying for me, but just one last request before the Lord's return.  Pray that I am able to be successful here, make a valuable contribution and have favor with mgmt.

I still think the Lord is coming for His bride soon, but should He tarry, it would be nice to have a comfortable stable work environment, as I continue to regain my health.

Thanks ever so much for all your prayers and support in recent months!
I think, I hope, I'm on the home stretch here.  I'm feeling well enough, that I think I can make it!    (God knows I need to!)  I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...............

Maranatha!
