"For Elisabeth"
Hi Elisabeth,
I just want to encourage you that our God is able. After
praying and giving this whole matter to God, I was led to call our common
(with our neighbors) landlord (something I seldom do) and he was uncharacteristically
immediately concerned. He said that this kind of dog, pit bullll is a violation
of their insurance and could not be allowed here. The owners are not happy
but I knew that this was an answer and a resolve of this. But much more
I sense this as a much bigger spiritual issue than just a neighbor's dog.
The very afternoon that this began for us my wife and I had just been rejoicing
that same morning that this our home was dedicated to God as a place where
His angels could come for sort of rest and resupply. In other words a base
of operation for God's kingdom in the midst of the world's darkness. Where
God's will is asked to be done on earth as it is in heaven etc. My wife
Linda made the comment that morning that our upstairs ! neighbors are fortunate
to have us as neighbors because they enjoy the peace of having God's kingdom
right here. Then this whole situation with that dog began.
We are praying for you and I know that God wants to show
Himself strong for you right now. Don't worry what form it might take in
the natural. That's God's territory. You just grab hold with both hands
to His promise to see you through every tribulation and temptation that
Satan can bring. Submit yourself unto God, resist the devil and he will
flee from you. Most importantly, ask God what He would have you do. That's
what waiting on the Lord means. Just like the way a waiter waits on a customer
at a table in a restaurant, you ask God what He would have you do. Then
do whatever he tells you to do. God's promise for all such as will do this
is that we will renew our strength, mount up with wings as eagles (see
it from a higher perspective) run and not be weary (you'll make it to the
finish line) walk and not faint (you'll not be overwhelmed by the whole
spectacle of it all.) That's what I did. I asked God what He wanted me
to do and He told me to ! call my landlord and tell him about this pit
bull. Much more important to God than you merely having the victory in
this one matter is you coming to know His ways and that He loves you. I
feel that you may be struggling with that right there. Do you believe that
God knows and cares for you right now? That's what this is about. He desires
to prove it to you. Taste and see that the Lord is good... Read Psalm 34
which contains that verse and many great promises. I feel God's love for
you and I can hardly wait to meet you!
Praise God,
