I am writing to respond to the article written by Ellen Ratner "Hijacked Christianity" and the opinion that the "Over all Message is Good" The title of this article should read "Hijacked Democrat Party". It is not Christianity that has been hijacked, but the Democrat Party. I could not find one thing about this article that was good. When I read the first paragraph, I thought, "Am I reading the right article"? I looked to see who wrote it, and then it made sense. Ellen Ratner (Liberal and Proud) is certainly not on the side of the Conservative Christian. I thought that World Net Daily was a conservative news source, but after reading the articles referenced by Paul Wilson, I now see that it is not. All these articles are anti-Bush.
I can understand Ellen Ratner making these statements since she is liberal and proud, however, it blows my mind that a Christian would agree with this bias liberal article. How many people who are critizing President Bush are praying for him as the Bible commands us. My husband and I kneel down by our bed and pray for President Bush, our Country, and our Church always twice a day and when we are home, which is most of the time, we pray three times a day for him..
I am not a Democrat or a Republican, but I am a Conservative Christian. I will vote for the best candidate. There are a couple of conservative Democrats that I would gladly vote for, but they are very scarce. People say God tells them to do some very strange things. I have been a Christian for 57 years, and I have heard people say God is telling them to do things which certainly don't agree with the Word of God.
I believe that President Bush is a Christian, and I plan to vote for him. As for the people who are judging President Bush, I don't believe King David in the Bible would have met their approval because of his behavior, but God favored him.
Third Party Candidates know they can't win. They either want to take votes away from a primary candidate or else they have an ego problem wanting to see how many votes they can get. Satan is so sly he can use Christians to accomplish his evil plans while making them think they are hearing from God.
I don't think anyone is going to change anyone else's opinion about who to vote for and I wouldn't even try; however, it surprised me that Ellen Ratner's article was referenced on the Five Doves. It is so different from most of the other articles.
I agree 100% with Dave Winecoff's article regarding Third Party Candidates. I also agree that people hate President Bush and say evil things about him because he is a Christian. It doesn't really matter who you vote for because God is going to put the candidate He wants in office to accomplish His purpose.
I really wish people would spend more time praying for President Bush instead of critizing and judging him.
