Dear friends:
Below is an amazing story sent to me by Nancy R., an email friend. I asked he to refresh me on her younger brother's story, which she subsequently did, and which follows her message below. I thank God for this committed missionary family.

_____________________Greetings, Jim!
God just did another fascinating miracle today to keep our family alive - - hopefully to go up together in the rapture. I thought you might be encouraged by it.
You may recall how God granted my request for my youngest brother's (Alan) life to be spared when he suffered a cardiac arrest a couple of years ago. You may also remember that he said he wasn't permitted to go on to heaven because he was told "your sister won't let you go." I was deeply touched by that because not only did he have things he still wanted to accomplish with his life that had not been fulfilled yet, but also because I wanted our whole family to be alive at the time of the rapture so we could all go up together. (He didn't know I had been praying this way when he told me he was sent back.)
Just about two years ago, I had a dream that my mom, looking very aged, was rocking herself in a rocking chair while looking out the window at clouds in the sky and mumbling something about "trobes." When I asked what she meant, she stated more specifically, "white robes . . I have one, and a mansion waiting for me." (Or something to that effect.) I called her the next day and told her not to get any grand ideas of going to heaven just yet 'cause I was praying we would all go up to heaven together in the rapture. She laughed.
Well, today, Saturday, July 3, 2004, Alan called me to tell me that mom was at that very moment in an ambulance, ahead of him and dad, being escorted by a fire truck to the local hospital.
The problem began when our mom wouldn't wake up today. So when Alan tried to get her up, she began vomiting. Medical wisdom says not to let a person who throws up go back to sleep as they might choke to death. So he tried to have her walk. Unfortunately, she got to a point where she couldn't walk anymore. Her left side froze up. Then she could no longer answer questions and passed out onto the floor.
So Alan called 911 and got a neighbor to help him carry her. A fire truck and ambulance came and took her to the hospital. The doctor said it appeared to be "very serious." The hospital asked if my dad and Alan wanted to have her resuscitated (I thought that was part of their oath -- to save lives) and they replied "Absolutely, yes!"
They were then asked to leave the room. This naturally made my dad and Alan concerned so they asked why. The doctor said that because of the procedures that would have to be taken things might "get violent" and he didn't want them to have to see that.
Within a few hours we had an unusual, positive response from God that I thought would interest and inspire you to know.
1) The doctor on the next shift turned out to be a Christian. He encouraged dad and Alan to keep praying (unlike the Emergency Room doctor who said, after doing a cat scan, that she had suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage and that her condition was "hopeless" and that they "should let her go."
My mom is in her late 80's, so unsaved medical personnel are quick to tell you that you should let an older person die - - they've lived a long good life, etc. However, long life runs in our family - - some of my mom's uncles have lived well beyond 100 years old, plus we had reasons we wanted her to live.
Alan countered with the fact that she is greatly loved, very talented, had more things she still wanted to do, and that we wanted the hospital to do everything possible to keep her alive (oxygen, intravenous, medications, etc.).
The E. R. doctor suggested doing emergency surgery but Alan, considering her age, said "no, we are going to trust God to heal her."
2) Meanwhile . . .Myron, my 2nd oldest brother, had his wife check with the hospital as she is a nurse who has worked in intensive care units. After talking with hospital staff, Myron gave us a very negative report, saying mom had maybe a week at the most in her present condition. (Myron lives back on the East Coast, so distance prevents him from being in on everything that's going on, such as, how many people were praying for her, and why we were adamant to keep her alive, etc.)
On a side note, I talked briefly to my dad and told him I hoped my mom hadn't passed over to the other side yet to meet Jesus because, if she had, she wouldn't want to return. I know this because, as a missionary, she had a life-after-death experience once before and told me - - way back then - - that God's love was so indescribably warm and wonderful that she didn't want to return.
3) But God (I love those two words) intervened in a most unexpected way!
While my youngest brother was at home freshening up to return to the hospital, he was given a vision. He saw my mom with God. God said mom had finished what He had given her to do, that we needed to release her because our prayers were keeping her here and that it was time for her to come home.
However, Alan (God bless him!) reasoned with God ("come let us reason together, says the Lord..."). He reminded God that He had indicated a number of years ago that my mom should record her organ playing for a group of young unchurched people in her area, as they would be influenced by the older hymns she plays and, that as a result, would later become missionaries to foreign countries. Alan stated that mom hadn't been able to do that yet for a number of reasons, i.e., lack of good health being one of them (she fell down 20 steps a few months ago, was bedridden for a long time as a result and was still recuperating when this stroke happened). And besides, he added, we loved her, wanted her back, and were hoping to go up together as a family in the rapture.
God replied that He would let mom make the decision as to whether or not she was willing to return. (Just what I was afraid of. Hah!)
My mom then spoke up and said that she would be willing to return if God would completely heal her so she would have the good health needed to accomplish the things she had wanted to do.
God then told Alan He would send mom back. He added that Alan would hear the sound of firecrackers going off soon thereafter as confirmation that our prayers and her request for complete healing were granted.
Incredibly, no sooner did the vision end then Alan heard firecrackers going off outside! (This being the eve of July 4th, that's to be expected. However, this was the first time he'd heard firecrackers today, Saturday, 07/03/04.)
4) A minister went with them back to the hospital to anoint mom with oil and pray for her healing. That's when the doctor mentioned to my dad and Alan that he saw her move her head due to experiencing pain when they gave her the intravenous. What's significant about that is that there had been no movement since my mom passed out at home, not even eye movement, even though her breathing was perfect. Moving her head back and forth was an indication medically that she was showing signs of feeling, and hence, was recovering.
Isn't God good?
In His Love, Nancy

From Nancy:
My father, Dr. Byron W. Ross, a former missionary to the Philippine Islands, taught Bible prophecy and the coming pre-trib rapture ever since I was a child (long before Hal Lindsey popularized it). I can still remember sitting in a church pew late at night in a barrio of the Philippines watching with interest a rapture film my dad was showing his Filipino congregation. My parents served in the most interior islands - - places where natives had never seen white people before (much less movies) - - other than albinos.
Consequently, I've always felt it would be a shame to grow up in the generation the Bible promised would see the rapture occur only to die short of the actual event. . . to get so close and then to miss it! (Think of all the people down through the ages, since the time of Christ, who have prayed, longed and hoped fervently for this wondrous, miraculous event to occur and wished it would happen in their lifetime!)
So, when my dad had surgery a few years ago, I laughingly told my [former] Navy boss at work what I had told God, "You can't take my dad yet because I need him more than you do!" (With all due respect, and half-joking, of course.) What I didn't share with my boss was the driving force behind my comment, which was my long-held desire for all of us to live to see the rapture occur and to go up together as a family in it.)
About a year or two ago my youngest brother, Alan, had a "life after death" experience. Fortunately he lived to tell me about it. He said at one point while undergoing surgery in the hospital he died and crossed over to the other side. Oddly enough, he was told he couldn't stay, that he had to return to his body. Being the curious type, he naturally questioned why he couldn't stay. The answer he was given was: "Your sister won't let you go." Interesting, huh?!
I chuckled when my youngest brother told me this. I then explained to him it was not only because I felt he had so much to contribute towards the Lord's work if he were allowed to live, but also because it was my long-held hope and prayer to the Lord to let us all live to see the rapture and go up together in it.
I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. At the same time I felt honored and deeply touched, as well as, fascinated that God prevented my brother's appointment with death because of my tenacious hope that our family will be permitted to go up together in the soon coming rapture!
Since then my mother, in her late eighties, suffered a mild stroke. I had a dream one night recently of her in a rocking chair looking longingly out a window at the clouds. She spoke of having a white robe and a beautiful mansion in heaven and wanting to go there. Upon awakening from the dream I sensed a foreboding that God might be warning me that she could have another stroke and pass away. I felt a need to reassure her to hold on until the rapture. So I called her and half-jokingly, yet seriously, told her "Now, mom, don't you go getting any ideas of making it to heaven before the rest of us 'cause we're all going up in the rapture together!" She just chuckled.
I'm not more special than anyone else and "God is no respector of persons." However, these recent events prove to me there is a God in heaven who is listening to and answering prayers, and is miraculously keeping alive those who desire to participate in the soon rapture.
