Critical Questions

Dear friends:Followers of Jesus Christ may differ on politics and candidates, but they should never differ on principles.
The following questions are not to endorse any candidate but they are questions that Christians should try to answer before they vote. Consider the question, pray, and vote your conscience.

THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION OF 2004
Questions Christian Voters Should Ask Themselves before Casting a Ballot
In all likelihood, the President elected in 2004 will appoint one to three
Supreme Court judges in the next four years. Increasingly, the courts are
being used as a tool to reshape the culture of America. Decisions of the
Supreme Court are binding on all courts below them. Additionally the
executive and legislative branches of the federal government yield to the
judgment of the Supreme Court; as do all state courts, and state executive
and legislative branches of government. As a Christian, ask yourself these
questions as you decide who to vote for - because the next President will or
is likely to appoint judges that either preserve moral and spiritual values
or destroy them.* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will overturn the act of Congress, signed by
the President, that bans partial birth abortion?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will overturn the Unborn Victims of Violence
Act (the Laci and Connor Peterson law), enacted by Congress and signed by
the President, that criminalizes the injuring or killing of a child in the
womb when a pregnant woman is attacked and the baby in the womb is injured
or killed as a result?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will strike the phrase "under God" from the
Pledge of Allegiance?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will finalize the process of erasing all
evidences of the Christian Faith from the public forum - mangers, crosses,
and prayers at civic events?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will define as a hate crime a Christian's
right to publicly identify homosexuality as a sin and as morally perverse
conduct?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will (if the Federal Marriage Constitutional
Amendment is not endorsed by Congress and ratified by the States) strike
down all state Defense of Marriage Acts (DOMAs) on the grounds that they
deny a "constitutional" right of marriage between homosexuals?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will require all states, under the Full
Faith and Credit provision of Article IV of the United States Constitution,
to recognize the legal validity of marriages performed in states where
homosexuals are granted a marriage license?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will uphold a first amendment right of free
speech for purveyors of child pornography on the internet and through other
means?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will strip federal and state aid from
Christian colleges and universities and federal and state aid to students
attending Christian colleges and universities if that particular Christian
college or university "discriminates" by sexual orientation through policies
that deny admittance to persons who engage in homosexual conduct?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will strip federal and state aid from
Christian colleges and universities and federal aid to students attending
Christian colleges and universities because those colleges and universities
require faculty and students to commit to a set of Christian beliefs and
behaviors?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will deny federal assistance to faith-based
organizations that feed and house the homeless, help free the drug addict,
and whose hospitals refuse to perform abortions?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will uphold local zoning ordinances that
effectively curtail construction of churches on the basis that the traffic
generated produces a safety hazard and nuisance to the community?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will find that churches and religious
organizations should not be exempt from taxation?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will find that the Constitution bars the
appointment and support of chaplains in Congress, state legislatures, and in
the military?* Which candidate will appoint or is most likely to appoint
judges to the Supreme Court who will strike "in God we trust" from all
currency and coins? This election, for Christians, must not be about the economy or the war in Iraq. It's an election for the soul of America.
