 This  second article says that "Moon sponsored George W. Bush's Inaugural Prayer Luncheon for Unity and Renewal on Jan. 19" of 2001, and "Moon spoke to the attendees while church members handed out Unification books and pamphlets."
 
(Any Christian defending Rev. Moon as the Messiah should know better because Jesus is the Messiah or the Christ.
John 1:40-42 says, "One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.  He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias (Messiah), which is, being interpreted, the Christ.  And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him,he said Thou art Simon the son of Jona: though shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone."  Also according to John 4:25-26, the woman of Samaria at the well said to Jesus, "I know that the Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he come, he will tell all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he." So Jesus himself said that he is the Messiah or Christ.)
