"CAPS: Osteoporosis"
CAPS,
Several simple things will help you wife recover bone
mass loss.
1. Bone density loss can be reversed with 'weight
bearing exercise'.
A. Walking, more than a half an hour per day, is
vital. Walking causes ones own body
weight to bear on bones and strengthen them. The
side effects are... you get to be
outdoors (smell the roses) and increase both vitality
and overall health.
B. But the best way to increase bone mass is strength
training with weights.
This can be done at home, health club or gym. Holding,
lifting and move weights
causes muscles to strengthen. And since muscles
are connected to tendons and
ligaments which are attached to bones; as muscles are
strengthened they literally
pull on the bones and cause them to grow in density and
get stronger.
2. Sugar must leave the diet.
A. Sugar (diet sugars included) leach calcium from
the bones. This is why most people
with osteoporosis also appear pale. No more colas,
including diet and low cal.
B. Severe reduction in white floured breads, pastas,
pastries. These high glycemic
foods tax the pancreas and act as sugars.
Osteoporosis is a man made disease!
