Wonderful posting Sandra, you bring up a good point for christians who truly want to live their lives for Jesus . That the cost of really living out our lives for the Lord will be high, and involve much hardship & sufferingthis statement is powerful : " Following Jesus is easy when life runs smoothly; our true commitment to Him is revealed during trials. Jesus assured us that trials will come to His followers (John 16:33). Discipleship demands sacrifice, and Jesus never hid that cost ". In this modern 21st century most American christians like their easy, comfort zone , no risk taking lifestyle. But the cross Jesus was talking about involved much risk taking and getting out of your comfort zone for the Gospeland this list of possible hardships that may be required of you by Jesus should you want to surrender your life completely to the Lord will stop many christians from picking up that Cross :If you wonder if you are ready to take up your cross, consider these questions:
. Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing some of your closest friends?
. Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means alienation from your family?
. Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means the loss of your reputation?
. Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your job?
. Are you willing to follow Jesus if it means losing your life?quite a heavy list to consider. Jesus Himself said to count the cost before you decide to follow Him. But it is worth it for those christians who are willing to carry their cross and live their lives for the Lord. The eternal rewards waiting for faithful believers in heaven for work done here on earth is worth any hardships you may have to go thrumy vote - say YES to Jesus, pick up whatever cross He has you to carry and live your life completely for Him. Cause one day there is a good chance you will hear your Lord say : " Well done thy good and faithful servant " !have a blessed day, Gary
